Dear MR. President,
I call your attention to the enclosed recent statement and protest of the Democratic Alliance of Kosova regarding the questionable treatment of leaders of that democratic organization by Serbian police.
I nope you will make it clear to Yugoslavian authorities that the people of the United States fully support the democratic aspirations of the people of Kosova, as well as all other Yugoslavians. Police st4te tactics against Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, Chairman of the Democratic Alliance of Kosova, end the other leaders of that organization, constitute an outragooue violation of human rights. Such behavior represent. a clear violation of the Helsinki Final Act, to which Yugoslavia is a signatory party.
Mr. President, I know that you are a strong defender of human rights for all peoples. Your efforts on behalf of the pro-democracy forces in Yugostavia would be most appreciated.
